If you’re interested in joining our company it will help you to have some background info:
We are an amateur company with charitable status, meaning that being part of our company is not a full-time commitment, and our principal sources of funding are ticket sales and subscriptions. Our aspirations are always to put on the most high-quality productions that we can, and our audiences will attest to that quality. We also pride ourselves on being incredibly welcoming and a great bunch to hang out with; there are many reasons that people stay with us year after year.
Our normal production year involves one big production in the Spring and then concerts at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. For the big production we audition in late September or October and then rehearse from around October until the show in the Spring. Thereafter we have a small break before kicking off our Summer with auditions for the Fringe show in early May and rehearsals from then until the shows in August.
Auditions are based around a singing audition for the Fringe, while for the Spring show there may also be movement workshops and if you have opted to audition for a named role you will also be likely to be asked to prepare a dialogue. People who are successful in their audition will be invited to join the performing company for that show and, given that we are an amateur company, will also be asked to pay a subscription which helps, in addition to ticket sales, to pay the many production costs involved.
Acceptance into the cast of one show does not guarantee you a place with the company for all shows that year; auditions are held for each show and everyone who hopes to get into the cast is expected to audition, regardless of whether you’ve performed with the company before or not.
Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 7pm – 10pm at Barclay Church, Bruntsfield, regardless of which production it is, and also Saturdays 10am-1pm for the main productions. Cast members must also be available for the full weekend before productions as well as all evenings when we’re into production week, and we expect that cast to have good availability throughout the rehearsal period.

Please also be aware that we have are an adult company, and potential members must be 18 on the date of their audition for a show. There there is no upper age limit.
