Auditions for The Drowsy Chaperone

Edinburgh Music Theatre are delighted to share audition news and information about their Spring 2022 show, The Drowsy Chaperone, the show that will mark EMT’s return to the stage.  This popular show celebrates the joy of musicals, being a gentle, loving, and very funny pastiche of the golden age of shows.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison.  The story concerns a musical theatre fan. As they play the record of their favourite musical, the fictional 1928 hit ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’, the show comes to life onstage as they knowingly comment on the music, story, and actors. 

It debuted in 1998 at The Rivoli in Toronto and opened on Broadway on 1 May 2006. The show was nominated for multiple Broadway and West End theatre awards, winning five Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards.

• Weds 29^th September    7-10pm      Welcome Night and Company auditions, Barclay Viewforth Church Halls
• Sat 2^nd October             3:30-7pm   Audition session 1 for principal/featured roles, Deaf Action, 49 Albany Street
• Mon 4^th October           7-10 pm    Audition session 2 for principal/featured roles, Barclay Viewforth Church Halls
• Wed 6^th October           7-9pm    Dance workshop (to learn dance audition piece)  Barclay Viewforth Church Halls
• Wed 6^th October           9-10pm    Audition session 3, for principal/featured roles, Barclay Viewforth Church Halls
• Thurs 7th October         7-10 pm     Callbacks, Deaf Action, 49 Albany Street             
• Sat 9^th October             10am-1pm  Dance auditions, Barclay Viewforth Church Halls
