EMT are delighted that we will shortly be back onstage at the Church Hill Theatre, Morningside, with our Spring 2022 show, The Drowsy Chaperone.
This popular show celebrates the joy of musicals, being a gentle, loving and very funny pastiche of the golden age of shows.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with a book written by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. The story concerns a musical theatre fan. As they play the record of their favourite musical, the fictional 1928 hit ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’, the show comes to life on stage as they knowingly comment on the music, story, and performers.
It debuted in 1998 at The Rivoli in Toronto and opened on Broadway on 1 May 2006. The show was nominated for multiple Broadway and West End theatre awards, winning 5 Tony awards and 7 Drama Desk Awards.
EMT can’t wait to return to the Edinburgh stage, and delight and entertain audiences again with this fantastic show.
